In the last 50 years, Welsh rugby has seen periods of both triumph and struggle. Here’s a brief look at its journey:
The 1970s Golden Age
The 1970s are often hailed as a golden era for Wales, with a team featuring legends like Gareth Edwards, Barry John, and JPR Williams. During this decade, Wales dominated the Five Nations Championship, securing multiple Grand Slams and Triple Crowns. Their fast, inventive play style captured fans' imaginations and established Wales as a rugby powerhouse.
Difficult Times (1980s–1990s)
The 1980s and 1990s were challenging for Welsh rugby. Professionalism was transforming the game, and Wales struggled to adapt, facing losses to traditional rivals and newer international teams. Although the team had some successes in the Five Nations, they were inconsistent, and they generally underperformed at the Rugby World Cup, which debuted in 1987.
Revival in the 2000s

Where an event is re-scheduled, the booking will become valid for the re-scheduled event except in the case of the re-scheduled event taking place at an alternative venue whereupon refunds or rebates will be given at our discretion. The 1970s Golden Age
